Backtotheroots foods review!

Have you ever wondered where does my food come from?

It all began inside of a college classroom where the makers of Backtotheroots  founders studied that mushrooms could grow on recycled coffee grounds! After watching countless hours of how-to videos and turning their fraternity kitchen into a humungous science experiment, they made the decision to  give up their corporate job offers to become full-time mushroom farmers. What started as their curiosity for urban farming channeled a love for “undoing food” and reconnecting families to it through fun, delicious and sustainable “ready to grow” and “ready to eat” products and that's when Backtotheroots was born!

Backtotheroots makes all sorts of products from a water garden, a mushroom farm, garden in a can breakfast foods and more!

I came across their products online and instantly fell in love with their passion for food from the growing process all the way to the fun part, the eating !

Backtotheroots sent me some of their products to try out for review and here is what I was sent!

Stoneground flakes:

Ingredients:
Made with 100% stoneground whole wheat
Sea salt
Lightly sweetened with organic cane sugar

I got a great start this morning with a delicious bowl of stoneground flakes. I
loved the taste of this cereal it wasn't too sweet and loved that when you poured the milk on top it didn't get all soggy. I just hate soggy cereal don't you?! Stoneground flakes is delicious no matter if you add some fresh fruit, almonds for a wholesome breakfast or add to yogurt for a crunchy yet sweet topping or just plain with milk either way it's good! Believe it or not in the picture above there's raisins in the bowl that sank to the bottom.

Why stoneground ?

Stoneground whole wheat contains more nutrients and a lot more taste than unrefined or wholewheat flour. With stoneground there is nothing added nor removed.

Breakfast toppers:

Organic Breakfast toppers contain only three simple ingredients which is a fruit, a seed and a nut that's all for you to have fun with your food!

With breakfast toppers you can add a sprinkle to your boring oatmeal, a creamy yet delicious smoothie, or even yogurt and much more!

For long lasting energy:

Chia seeds, shreds of coconut and dates
I absolutely love coconut so I couldn't wait to try this mixture. Not only do the chia seeds, coconut and dates give you long lasting energy to help you get through the day it makes a crazy good breakfast on plain yogurt with plump organic blueberries. You could even sprinkle it onto a protein smoothie!

Other breakfast toppers

For an Antioxidant boost  blueberries, almonds and buckwheat

For complete protein raisins, sunflower seeds and buckwheat

So shake it up, top it off and enjoy!

Did you know for every photo that you share of Backtotheroots products they'll donate a box of stoneground flakes to an elementary school cafeteria?
