Elmhurst1925 Milked Hazelnuts SocialNature Sampling !
It all began in New York City during the 1900's with a tiny herd of cattle where much of Manhattan was scoured with lush farmlands .
Cows were bought on Manhattan stomping grounds and traveled their way across the Williamsburg Bridge where the Elmhurst neighborhood resided in Queens. The buyer's sons Arthur and Max Schwartz discovered an opportunity and ran with it. During the 1920's they hand bottled milk inside their father's milk house.
They then distributed fresh milk across both Brooklyn and Queens inside of a delivery truck that was chock full of ice blocks to keep it cold.
Since then Elmhurst milk has blossomed into one of the largest dairy manufacturers on the East Coast where they supply a metropolitan area of a total of 7 million people.
It's been almost a century later since Elmhurst 1925 began and remains run by family which is owned by Max's son Henry Schwartz.
Elmhurst just recently expanded their roots and jumped on the plant-based band wagon making delicious creamy nut milks for all to enjoy!
Dr. Cheryl Mitchell who is the food scientist behind the scenes received an award for Women Entrepreneur of the year that was awarded by the state of California for her lifetime achievements in foods, she became a leading culinary innovator.
With her devoted spirit and outstanding scientific mind and drive for health she began her career as a food scientist and came up with cooking methods that would hold nutritional value in plant based foods.
Not long after she was popular for being a world expert in the cooking and processing of grains, where she made rice beverages in the United States.
She wasn't happy with the accomplishment and was driven to make the nutrients and value of plant based foods greater and after 20 years she finally got her recipe just right where she extracted the proteins and all of the nutrients found in grains, nuts, seeds using traditional mechanical and fermentation process methods.
The finishing touches of these plant based foods was made into a creamy and natural plant milk!

Since I've made the switch to living dairy free I've noticed that there aren't many milks on the market that are made with clean ingredients.
When I got the invite to try Elmhurst milked beverages I jumped at the opportunity because I've seen it at my local stop & shop before and must say it piqued my interest !
I've tried almond and cashew milks before from other companies that claim to be healthy and I found that some tasted good but others didn't not to mention they used thickeners to make it creamy.
I have made my own milk in the past from almond milk to tigernut and it created a smooth and creamy texture with simple ingredients but it's time consuming and when I don't have the time to make my own I look for one that's made with pure ingredients and Elmhurst milked beverages offer all that and more !
Think Nutella but in drinkable form with nutty hazelnuts that provide a silky smooth texture that is so rich, sweet and oh so good !
Milked Hazelnut beverage offers the perfect amount of richness to any smoothie, baked goods , over granola , pancakes, or even in oatmeal .
I absolutely loved the rich nuttiness of the milked hazelnuts it reminded me of chocolate milk with a nutty twist!
