A large amount of their products are vegetarian and vegan friendly too.
Their products include several brands like Native Forest, Let's Do...Organic , The Wizard's , Edward & Sons , Let's Do... As well as Road's end Organics.
Whether I am cooking and it baking I love using coconut oil not just because it is healthier than other oils but because it gives the food a nice flavor added to it and well I'm also cuckoo for coconuts!
Edward & Sons sent me some of their coconut based products to try out for review and here is what I received!
With the coconut flour and oil I made almond butter chocolate chip cookies that were the best ever homemade cookies so rich, flavorful from the essence of coconut with melt in your mouth chocolate chips yum!
Unsweetened Coconut shreds:
Unsweetened coconut shreds are the perfect dessert topping whether it's on pudding or even ice cream for that matter to give it a nice nutty flavor! Or you could add to your favorite smoothie!
For dessert I was craving something sweet yet chocolaty so I went for a truechia pudding and topped it off with a few coconut shreds and knew I was in for a treat from the thick and creamy chocolate pudding with the sweet and nuttiness from the shreds of coconut!
Since I've eliminated grains from my diet I have missed one thing that I would normally eat every day and that is cereal! Raisin bran to be exact !
I was so glad when I came across this Paleo Raisin Bran recipe on Pinterest and knew that I had to make it!
Ingredients:
1) two cups of unsweetened coconut flakes
2) one teaspoon of cinnamon
3) 1/4 cup of raisins
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Spread out two cups of unsweetened coconut shreds on a cookie sheet
Sprinkle on the cinnamon
Then pop into the oven for a total of 5 minutes
Note*
Pay attention to the coconut shreds they can burn very quickly
You'll want to take them out of the oven and give them a flip so the other side can get toasty as well
Flip over the coconut shreds and pop them back into the oven for a few minutes
Let cool, add in your raisins then eat and enjoy or add to a mason jar!
This cereal was super simple and easy to make and only required a total of 3 yes three ingredients!
I know what you are thinking how is it raisin bran without the bran flakes?
When toasted the coconut flakes give that crispy bran texture we all know and love.
If you don't like raisins you could add cranberries or any other dried fruits for that matter!
Oh raisin bran how I've missed you!
Virgin Coconut Oil:
Gives a sweet nutty flavor whether your baking brownies, cookies and even muffins that are not only healthy but delicious too!
Sweetened condensed coconut milk:
Sure I've tried sweetened condensed milk before but coconut oh my goodness this was good! It was thick, it was creamy, it was decadent, rich, nutty, sweet and oh so delicious!
Sweetened condensed milk can be used in so many recipes and make one heck of a delectable dessert !
To name a few it can be used to make your very own ice cream, drizzled on top of some fresh fruit and much much more!
As a teenager I loved adding cream to my coffee, stop me if you know where I'm going with this one.
My personal favorite was coffee-mate's coconut cream it was sweet and nutty so creamy and delightful making one terrific cup of coffee!
I still to this day love coffee so I decided to take the can of sweetened condensed coconut milk and try making my very own coffee creamer.
I am so glad I did because it was hands down amazing!
Trust me your going to want to do this at home!
You can make your very own coffee creamer with only a few ingredients straight from your fridge and pantry all you need is
Sweetened condensed coconut milk
Your favorite kind of milk ( I used horizon organic)
Vanilla extract
Add your sweetened condensed coconut milk into a bowl
Then add in about 3/4 cup of your favorite milk
Mix it then pour into a mason jar make sure you screw the lid on tightly
Shake it vigorously
Then add in about 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Now you don't have to add in the extract being that the condensed milk gives it an already sweet flavor
From the coconut but I added just a touch and it was perfect!
I'm talking creamy, nutty, sweet ! Wow this was good!
I couldn't believe just how easy this was to make and tasted so much better than the bottled stuff you find in your local supermarket ! Plus it was made with simple yet healthy ingredients!
